Tuesday 17th February

Introduced Harald and Sissel to our favourite coffee place in Paderne and then took them on the walk to the old windmill. Barked at by all the usual dogs. Met our first Yorkshire family of the day ( from Bradford originally). Lunch by the mill. Had our Portuguese tactfully corrected by a local to whom we said "good morning" instead of " good afternoon". Have discovered "Bom dia" ends at midday and is then replaced by "Bua tarde".
After the walk we went to Alte, beautiful old hill village, walked round and showed them the village house we thought (not very seriously) we would like to have bought last year. On the way home called on Jean to pick and buy oranges, grapefruit and avocados. (See picture of Harald picking from the top of the tree where the largest ones are!)

Dinner at local family-run restaurant in Algoz, where we met our second Yorkshire people of the day. Friendly couple who now live locally.
Windmill walks, hillvillages and H and S picking oranges
