Sadly had to take Nora and Charley to the airport. It has been really great having them to stay and we very much hope they wil come back next year if we decide to come back ourselves. We all went in to Faro in the morning to have a look round andfound ourselves having coffee in an open air cafe in the old town surrounded by someones washing. It really is very much pleasanter than most of the other coastal towns as it has kept its old centre with real local shops ( though it does have its horrific high-rise ghetto of holiday flats in a separate part of the town town. Our only objetion to the place is that it is so easy to get lost trying to find your way out. As usual we successfully got lost, but managed to escape in time to deliver Nora and Charley to the airport in time to check in for their flight back to Leeds-Bradford.
Lunched in snack bar and walked on the beach with Harald and Sissel and decided on cross country route home to avoid the motorway and got lost again. H and S pleased to see that we chose a route through a place called Purgatorio. ( yes, really!)
