Friday 27th. Doing things day

Up early to clear up and wash up after yesterday evening's party. Then off to Paderne for ten o'clock meeting with Paul Beesley to discuss arrangements for John and Joan to hire bikes next week. Called on Bruce to give them a book and look at Jennifer's (now) late father's house with a view to renting it from next year. (Bruce was busy painting spots on a horse costume in which he and Jennifer are going an Ascot-theme party on Saturday.) Beautiful little house, very well equipped, so we very much hope we shall be able to come to a satisfactory agreement with them and maybe escape from Tranquil Escapes, which is OK ,but anything but tranquil at the moment as they are busy doing up five of the cottages for the coming season. Afternoon, Nin to doctor in Albufeira to get his Achilles tendon seen to. (You can actually get to the doctor here on the same day even if you are not at death's door!).Got his prescription from lady who runsa the farmacia in Guia and who rejoices in the name of Dottora Maria Perpetua Ramos. Probably round off our busy day by going to Jean's to pick oranges for our freshly squeezed orange juice breakfasts. Afraid we may have to abandon th idea of breakfasts outside in the sun for a while as rain is forecast for the weekend and next week. Slightly Yuk for us but MAXIYUK for Sue who is arriving tomorrow for a long wekend in the sun! Hmmm!
Nin to very pleasant jolly Dutch doctor in Albufeira who diagnosed what we already suspected…irritated Achilles tendon. Got some pain-killers/inflammation reducing powders which should clear it up in a relatively short time, tho possibly a couple of weeks if I overdo it! Oh well. Fingers and toes crossed. Also had new INR blood test with more normal results, though this has to be checked in a couple of days’ time in case the anti inflammatory stuff interfers, which it sometimes does. You may have to enlarge today's picture(by clicking on it) to see that it was not the medical centre N went to! Celebratory cup of coffee and watching rather alarming sounding Portuguese news bulletin which appeared to be reporting that Ryanair are now going to charge extra for going to the loo on their flights! Will they have priority loo tickets like they have priority boarding which costs extra?? Hope we misunderstood the news flash! And what happens if you need to go twice and you only have one loo ticket? Presumably you have to buy another more expensive one from the stewardess! The mind boggles.
News from Sue who runs this place that we may have to move to another cottage as there are problems with the water supply to this one which may mean they have to dig up the floor here.
