Tuesday 3rd March.
Woke to heavy rain.Collected John and Joan from airport mid morning yesterday and then the rain started, heavy on the way home and more intermittent as the day wore on.On the whole trying day with a series of contradictory messages from Sue and John about whether we would have to move to another house because of the problems with the water supply. Ended up with our having to move in the rain as there was no water at all in the old house, so we are now established in one further along the row. At least it has a shared covered terrace with the house our visitors are and will be occupying.
Sue returns to London today so we shall be taking her back to the airport after we have been in to Faro for N to have a blood test. Hmm, Faro in the rain!!
Sue safely delivered after rather hurried visit to old parts of Faro. At least one part of the Algarve coast which has not been destroyed by mass high-rise tourism! Also saw lots of storks sitting on nests in the old town clacking their beaks at each other. They clearly regard it as sexy, though th general effect is rather like an old fashioned football rattle. N forgot the camera, so no stork pictures yet. Well here is a stork nesting on a crane (geddit?) in Silves
Arrived home to find John and his assistants have dug up the floor of our "old" kitchen and created chaos in there. Just as well we moved, though the ceiling in the kitchen in our new place leaks when it rains! We sem to have a magic effect on water in this place. It doesn't come in where it is supposed to, but does in places where it is not supposed to! Pity we cannot move to what we hope may be next year's accommodation. Energetic finger crossing that that deal comes off!
Enlarge today's picture by clicking on it, to find out someones opinion of the local football club. Good example of English as an international language!
