Friday
Woke to gale force winds. Tried to go to another market yesterday in Armacao, but failed to find it again, so went and had picnic lunch on beach instead. After lunch to Silves where Joan bought a handbag and Kathryn didn't buy a tempting one which she was offered for half price as the zip was broken. Bought oranges from ancient grannie at roadside lurking in a bush with a set of incredibly antique scales for weighing hung from a branch in the bush she was lurking in. As usual paid ridiculously low price for oranges more or less straight from a tree in her garden. Home to recover from our strenuous day and out to dinner at local restaurant with the clown waiter. Anita rang at dinner and asked if we could PLEASE play boules today as they had a visiting team coming and were short of two players. Probably rather foolishly agreed. We shall see. Report on match later. We shall also be delivering Joan and John to bike shop for their first day of riding. Forgot to mention that there no excavations going on here when we got home. Tranquil Escapes, was actually quite tranqil for a change. No internet yesterday morning because of the wind, but when we got back more pictures from Jonathan of beautiful Elise. (Today's picture). Also picture of Kathryn demonstrating wind on the clifftops at Armacao.

hello you lot
