Morning spent at the huge local market i Algoz. An amazing variety of goods offered. Lots of fresh food, Norwegian dried cod ( you can smell it long before you reach it), clothes, shoes ironmongery, live birds and rabbits and plants. Also stalls selling delicious freshly grilled chicken ( recognisable at a distance because of the aromatic cloud of smoke surrounding the cook), and others selling things like gigantic fried donuts crossed with pancakes. Delicious crispy and bad for the figure! Met some friends from last year there.
In the afternoon set out on reasonably long walk from Julie Stathams book of walks which turned into a very long one as we misunderstood her directions, got lost and had to return the way we had come. Saw several menhirs. ("Menhir true word is spoken in jest"....sorry about the frightful joke). Out to dinner...large chunk of pork on hot stone...sort of diy grill. Tender meat essential for this!
